What to get in touch about
Bug reports — always welcome
These get priority. To make a report actionable, include:
- Which tool, and the URL of the page.
- What you entered (or a minimal example that reproduces it).
- What you expected and what actually happened.
- Your browser and version, and whether it is desktop or mobile.
- Any error shown in the browser console, if you are comfortable checking.
Corrections
If an article states something wrong or out of date, please say so — ideally with a link to the specification or documentation that says otherwise. Accuracy matters more here than being right.
Tool suggestions
Suggestions are read and genuinely considered. A tool is more likely to be built if it can run entirely client-side, solves a problem that comes up repeatedly, and is not already covered well elsewhere.
Accessibility issues
If something is unusable with a keyboard, a screen reader or at high zoom, that is a bug and it will be treated as one.
What cannot be helped with
To set expectations honestly:
- Recovering data. Nothing you enter is stored, so there is nothing to retrieve. If you lost a generated password before saving it, it is gone.
- Decrypting or cracking anything. Requests to reverse a hash or break into an account will not receive a reply.
- Free consulting. Debugging your specific codebase or auditing your site is not something this site offers.
- Link exchanges and guest posts. Neither is accepted. Please do not send these.
Response times
This site is maintained by one person alongside other work. Bug reports and accessibility issues are usually answered within a few days; other messages may take longer, and some do not get a reply at all.
Silence is not disinterest — suggestions do get read and do influence what gets built next.
What happens to your message
Email you send is stored in an ordinary mailbox and is used only to reply to you. It is not added to any mailing list, not shared with anyone, and can be deleted on request. See the privacy policy for the wider position.
